Hello! My name is Alex Gundy, and I am a Recruiting Manager of Contract & Direct-Hire here at ITS. I was inspired to pursue recruiting because I found it a more fulfilling version of sales, which is where I started my career. I enjoy the person-to-person interaction and challenge of helping candidates and clients alike. I also enjoy learning about other fields and occupations. Plus, collaborating with coworkers to make a difference in people's lives truly motivates me. 

Outside of work, I have a passion for travel and exploring new things. I’ve traveled internationally on my own several times, embracing new cultures and experiences. I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports, reading, and anything that gets me outdoors.

At ITS, teamwork is essential for building and growing our organization. Each of us is dedicated to making ITS better for our employees, clients, and candidates. 

Collaborating with Candidates/Clients & Ensuring Cultural Fit 

Connecting with candidates and clients alike is another critical piece of my work. When it comes to candidates, I look for experience and a positive attitude. I appreciate those who are passionate about advancing in their fields.

Communication also plays a central role in how I approach each client relationship since good communication is the most important attribute that clients appreciate. I value those who can clearly convey what they’re looking for and provide timely feedback. This open line of communication helps me succeed in matching the right candidates with the right roles.

Assessing cultural fit is crucial to our placements at ITS, and I employ a specific approach for this.​ To determine if candidates will fit within an organization’s culture, I often ask open-ended questions that allow them to express how they would handle specific situations. I look for team players who are eager to learn and grow, as I believe attitude is everything.

One of the unique aspects of ITS is our strong small-business culture. We have a tight-knit group of employees who are passionate about their jobs, and we have access to every tool necessary for sourcing candidates—resources that most other companies may lack.

As for me, I genuinely enjoy working at ITS. Every day presents new challenges, but the people here make all the difference. We collaborate on projects in a way that I know isn’t common in many other companies in the industry.

And because this is such a dynamic industry, I also stay up-to-date with current trends that help our clients and candidates succeed. To stay informed about the latest trends in the various industries I support, I engage in conversations with candidates. I dig deep into their roles and industries to gain insights. I also make it a point to read about trends on LinkedIn daily, ensuring I'm always knowledgeable. Ultimately, I’m grateful to work with such a supportive team.
